He has extensive experience in OR process improvement, business intelligence and quaternary medical center perioperative services, where he has been responsible for all end-to-end OR processes as the Principal Management Engineer.

    Board-certified by both the American Board of Anesthesia and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Young is a Physician Managing Director of Surgical Directions. As a clinically active physician, Dr. Young understands the challenges facing his peers in the hospital. He asks the right questions to get to the core of every issue, and he works as both advocate and mentor to improve operational, financial, and service-delivery outcomes for patients, physicians, and hospital leadership.

  • Dr. Tom Blasco

    Thomas Blasco MD, MS has 40+ years of clinical experience as an anesthesiologist/intensivist working in and managing tertiary care level hospital operating rooms, critical care units and free-standing ASCs. For over two decades, as a founding partner of Surgical Directions, working with scores of clients, he has become a recognized leader in successful organizational improvement of patient-centric surgical care.

  • Jason Klopotowski

    Dr. Klopotowski is Surgical Direction’s lead physician managing director. He is a clinically active anesthesiologist with over a decade of experience in critical care medicine and anesthesia leadership. As an interim chair of anesthesia, he has shepherded multiple anesthesia groups through transitions to employment, working collaboratively with hospital leadership and the group to ensure efficient transitions with no disruptions to service or decrease in clinical quality.

    Jill is dedicated to making a difference in healthcare by fostering innovation and improving the patient and employee experience. As senior managing director of Surgical Directions, she drives organizational strategy, builds strategic client and partner relationships, leads key growth initiatives, and oversees executive leadership development.

  • Joshua Miller

    Dr. Miller has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership including P&L responsibility as well as hospital surgical and medical group consultative services. He has led complex system-wide anesthesiology departments and served as Division Medical Officer for anesthesiology, adult critical care, and interventional pain services at a national physician management company.

    As an Engagement Manager for Surgical Directions, Kartik supports consultants with analytic projects that reduce cost and increase optimization to help healthcare clients meet and exceed their performance goals. He has experience collaborating with healthcare professionals to implement large research studies and analyze health data.

  • Lee Hedman

    Throughout her career, Lee’s collaborative management of Operating Room Transformations has yielded significant increases in surgical growth and millions of dollars in hospital profits. Lee has successfully worked with physician practices to improve revenue cycle processes and improve financial performance while transforming the anesthesia practice to perform as a business entity and an invaluable partner with the hospital.

    Leslie is passionate about partnering with healthcare executives to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities they serve, while profitably growing their organizations. As President and CEO of Surgical Directions, Leslie is responsible for building meaningful relationships with clinicians and administrators, ensuring high quality work and insights, and delivering measurable outcomes.

    As Managing Director of Product for Surgical Directions, Michael manages analytics projects that reduce costs, drive revenue and increase ROI for healthcare clients. His specialties include analytics research, implementation, and strategy.

  • Patricia May

    Patricia is an Associate Vice President of Perioperative Nursing with over 25 years of experience in perioperative clinical nursing and nursing leadership. She has served as the Director of Perioperative Services for small community-based hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and large academic and trauma medical centers. Patricia has experience planning, developing, and opening new hospitals and ASCs.

  • Robert Johnson

    Bob Johnson began his career as a Perfusionist and Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he eventually became the Administrator for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. He went on to hold senior leadership positions at several prominent healthcare institutions, including Sr. Associate COO for Duke Hospital, VP of Administration at Baylor College of Medicine, and Executive Director of anesthesia services at UPMC.

    Supriya Patel is a Director at Surgical Directions, where she has served in various leadership and project management positions for over 5 years. She obtained her Master of Health Administration on the medical campus of Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently obtaining another certification in Organizational Leadership.
