Mark Penkhus' Biography

Mark Penkhus is a senior healthcare executive and has held leadership positions in both not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations, including HCA, Oregon Health and Sciences University, Vanderbilt University Hospitals, EY, LLC., the Detroit Medical Center, and the Sisters of Charity Health System, now (Common Spirit.)

Mark has experience in governance, strategy, operations, financial, and transformational management. Mark is skilled at aligning organizational strategies and objectives and developing clear solutions. He was co-founder of the Blue Ridge Academic Health Group, a thought leadership consortium of leading academic health centers.

Mark was founder and CEO at Physician Hospital Service Consulting (PHSC LLC) before joining Surgical Directions.

Mark is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program, Rensselaer Polytechnic University (MBA), University of Iowa (MHA Healthcare Administration), and Iowa State University (BS Psychology).
