SVP of Clinical Operations & CNE
Alecia is the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations & CNE with Surgical Directions. She has over 33 years of experience in perioperative clinical nursing, medical surgical nursing and critical care nursing, and she has held nursing leadership positions in both profit and non-profit health systems.
As former SVP of Clinical and Marketing Services at a major medical device manufacturer, Alecia was responsible for providing clinical direction, program development, clinical consultation and clinical quality review for perioperative services in hospitals and surgery centers, as well as education and training of perioperative clinicians. Alecia has also worked as Administrative Director of Surgical Services in various acute care facilities ranging in size from 300 to 650 beds.
Previously, Alecia was clinical editor for The OR Connection Magazine and Infection Prevention Now, and she was managing editor for Healthy Skin magazine. Her work has been published in numerous publications, and she speaks regularly in various healthcare arenas. Alecia maintains membership with the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), Business Industry Consulting (BIC) and the Association of Nurse Executives (AONE). In addition, Alecia has collaborated with the Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) to promote SCIP initiatives and improve surgical care through education. She has also worked with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and as a strategic partner with APIC, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology.
